Hello, we are Holly & Charlotte,
and welcome to our
Familiar Friends website.

We have been running our Day Club for over a year now (2023 - 2024) here in the heart of Warwick.

After many years working as Registered Mental Health Nurses, we identified a need for a person-centred service providing stimulating, entertaining, safe and above all a respectful, dignified day care for people who are living with Dementia.

Our priority is to offer choice in all aspects of our club days; whether that be in activities or food preferences.

Our two-course lunch is prepared in house, offering at least 2 options. All dietary requirements are catered for.

Many people who attend our groups enjoy music, with or without dance, so a sing-a-long with recorded tracks or visiting local musicians often form part of our day.

Our lovely *DBS checked volunteers are experienced care providers; historically from professional backgrounds such as social work, registered nursing, teaching or carers of loved ones who have sadly passed.

These volunteers allow us to further offer choice in activities as well as adding to the safety of our environment and to facilitate the opportunity for one-to-one conversation.

We appreciate the importance of maintaining mobility so, weather permitting, we offer an outdoor walk around the park or to view the canal boats at the nearby marina.

Whether actively participating or sitting back and observing, the over-riding sound you will hear at Familiar Friends is laughter.

Carers can enjoy valuable 'me' time, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is in a place that promotes a kind, stimulating, appropriate and person centred environment.
